About Me

Hello everyone!! My name is Nicole Acton and I am the creator of this blog. I am a sophomore at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and I am majoring in Marketing and Management with a minor in Spanish. I am from Geneva, IL, and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my other hobbies include watching Netflix, shopping, playing volleyball, hanging out with my sorority sisters, and I love to go out to eat at restaurants! The only time that I have been out of the country before this trip was when my family and I took a vacation to Aruba in the summer of 2018, so I am so excited to get the chance to go to Europe! This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am so grateful that I have the ability to be a part of something as great as this. I hope to learn so much about business, another culture, and myself on this trip. I also have some Swedish heritage on my mother’s side so that is pretty cool too! I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I am going to enjoy making it, and I hope you get a good idea of what Sweden is really like!

One of my favorite things to do is spending time with my good friends and I especially cannot wait for Sweden because two of my good friends, Ashley and Sam, are also going on the trip! Can’t wait to fika!!

One of my passions in life is volleyball. I play here at Carthage, and we just got done with the best season a couple of months ago! We made it to the NCAA Final Four! We are already gearing up for next season, so I will be missing out on some practices and chances to see my teammates while in Sweden, but I am confident that they are very excited for me about this opportunity!

Another organization that I am really involved with at Carthage is my sorority, Chi Omega. I just got elected to our executive board this past November, so starting the minute we return from Sweden, I will be taking over as secretary! Lots of exciting things for me coming up in the next few weeks!
